This picture is actually from last week, but having no "cameraman" at the moment I'm going to have to resort to some pictures I haven't had time to post yet. This is from last week, a day I had a meeting requiring a bit more toned down look. Found myself going to work wearing grey, navy and white.
Now, I know the tie is a sprezzish, but the picture is actually taken late in the evening after I had visited my tailor and tried on some stuff. After that I pretty much just tied a quick "after work" knot. Which I quite like actually, but even I wouldn't have that at work. I suppose the loafers are the "thing" in this outfit, but frankly I love loafers as part of my style and as the work environment has no problem with brown loafers I'm gonna be wearing them whatever people say.
The tie is an E. Marinella, worn in a few posts already I think. One of my go-to ties when I need something that doesn't have too bright colors and that goes well with pretty much any outfit. Pocket square is a basic cotton white square.
Hi! I can't tell on my iPhone what is grey, all looks blue...
ReplyDeleteI agree it looks a bit blueish. Must be the weather + my camera.
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me how I might find that suit, love the grey!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm digging the brown loafers, I'm a huge fan of loafers.
Classic shoes.
I love loafers myself as well. Hopefully the weather will allow us to wear them for as long as possible this year.
DeleteThe suit is a Cavaliere from Loro Piana's fabric with a spalla camicia shoulder. Unless you live in Finland I'm afraid I don't know where you could find this.
I like the jetted pockets, in my book that is the way the pockets of a suit for business meetings should be. I have a picture of John Elkann in an outfit very similar to this one, grey suit, blue tie with white dotts, light blue shirt and loafers and it screams understated elegance. I guess really rich people don't have anything to prove and just wish more men would take example and dressed in a more understated elegant manner.
ReplyDeletewell done!

I'm not sure if Lapo would agree with that? In his camo F458. :D
DeleteAnyway yeah I love these kind of simpler combinations a lot myself, but usually I prefer more color. I guess at the end of the day it's all about how I feel in the morning.
I guess Lapo is the black sheep of the family, the rebel. The others in their family have a very simple style that I like a lot. Especially the details.
DeleteBtw, Lapo also has a 599gtb with a blue jeans interior:D! I guess the tranny hookers and cocaine messed his brain up a bit :D Nevertheless he is definitely a unique dude that glides his own way through life...
